The Association encourages membership for anyone who has been associated with naval aviation in any Commonwealth or allied navy.

The Association has Divisions in all States, and members are encouraged to join in the activities that interest them.

Members also receive the quarterly journal Slipstream, which publishes news and recollections of interest.

The National Executive of the FAAAA undertakes activities such as arranging the national re-unions of Fleet Air Arm personnel, awards Medallions of Merit to the top naval aviation achievers and provides advice to its members on welfare matters.

The Divisional executives organise re-unions within their area and arrange events such as Anzac Day parades. The Divisions also provide welfare advice to their members.

The FAAAA makes submissions to various committees on matters related to the treatment of ex-servicemen and women as well as contributing to naval aviation discussions.

All members are encouraged to participate in the above activities.
