Joining the FAAAA
The Association encourages membership for anyone who has been associated with naval aviation in any Commonwealth or allied navy.
The Association has Divisions in all States, and members are encouraged to join in activities that interest them. Members also received the quarterly journal Slipstream, which publishes news and recollections of interest.
Full membership
Former and serving personnel of the RAN, or other navies, who have served for not less than 12 months in naval aviation or in support of naval aviation, may be admitted by a Division to the Association as a full member.
A full member is entitled to:
- receive notices of their Division's plenary meetings;
- attend, and vote, at their Division's plenary meetings;
- be eligible to hold any office in their Division or in the Association.
Associate membership
A person who has an interest in the Fleet Air Arm but is not entitled to join as a full member may be admitted by a Division to the Association as an associate member.
An associate member is entitled to receive notices of their Division's plenary meetings, but not:
- vote at any meeting; or
- be eligible to hold any office in their Division or in the Association.
Membership fees
For full membership, there is usually a joining fee and an annual subscription as determined by the individual Divisions (in most cases, this annual subscription includes a subscription to Slipstream magazine).

Joining fees and annual subscriptions may be reviewed at the Association annual general meeting, usually held in October, or by Divisions.
