Federal Council Annual Meeting 2009

Six new life memberships, along with a Diploma of Merit award, were announced when the Association's Federal Council met for the annual meeting at Nowra on Saturday, 3 October 2009. Those awarded life memberships were:

• Colin Bushe-Jones of Western Australia Division
• Brian Leslie Jost of Western Australia Division
• Bob Geale of New South Wales Division
• Clem Conlan of Victoria Division
• Roger Harrison of South Australia Division
• Ian Laidler of South Australia Division

The awards, along with a Diploma of Merit to Michael Stubbington of South Australia Division, were announced at the meeting by Association President, David Farthing. All the awards were made to recognise the long service to the Association by the recipients.

The meeting also decided to create an Australian Naval Aviation Roll of Honour at Nowra, to recognise those service people who had lost their lives in naval aviation accidents. Some 89 people have been identified and these names will be placed in a dedicated position alongside the existing Wall of Service outside the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
