Australia Day Honours

A number of members of the Fleet Air Arm were honoured in the Australia Day honours list announced on January 26.
Lieutenant Commander Tony Johnston received a Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) for distinguished command and leadership in action as mission commander of HMAS Adelaide's Seahawk helicopter during Operation Catalyst in Iraq.
Commodore Tim Barrett received the Conspicuous Service Cross (CSC) for outstanding achievement in the performance of duty as Commanding Officer at HMAS Albatross and as Chief of Staff, Navy Aviation Force Element Group Headquarters.
Captain Robert Pearson received the same award for outstanding achievement in the performance of duty as the Commander of the Navy Aviation Systems Program Office.
