A number of members of the Fleet Air Arm were honoured in the Queen's Birthday honours list announced on June 13.
Commodore Geoffrey Ledger received an AM in the Military Division for exceptional services to the RAN and the Australian Defence Force as director of the Aviation Capability Improvement Team and commander Australian Navy Aviation Group.
CDRE Ledger [pictured] recently became the new Australian Task Force Commander in the Middle East.
Captain Simon Cullen received the same award for exceptional service in warlike operations as the chief of staff, Headquarters Joint Task Force 633, and as the commanding officer of HMAS Sydney and Albatross.
Lieutenant Darryl Humphreys received a commendation for distinguished service for duty in warlike operations as the helicopter pilot and aircraft captain during combat rescue operations in the Northern Arabian Gulf on 24 April 2004.
