The Victorian Branch of the HMAS Sydney and Vietnam Logistical Support Veteran's Association is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a national reunion in Melbourne of all former Vietnam logistical support sailors on the Anzac Day long weekend, 23-26 April 2010. April 2010 - Nirimba Association Reunion

This Anzac weekend event in Sydney is for all HMAS Nirimba Association members and is not a reunion of any particular term or era. There is a free day in the program so mini-reunions can be planned by those attending. The website www.nirimba.org.au allows members to indicate which events they would like to attend. The venue for the meet and greet and dinner dance is the Parramatta RSL Club. More details are available on the website (log-in required).

May 2010 - 55th Anniversary International Reunion, Commonwealth Far East Strategic Reserve

The FESR Navy Association of Australia will host the 55th Anniversary International Reunion of service in the Commonwealth Far East Strategic Reserve (FESR) at the Twin Town Services Club, Coolangatta-Tweed Heads, on Thursday, May 27 to Sunday, May 30.

Registrations are invited from all Australian and New Zealand Navy personnel and their wives who served in the FESR from 1955 to 1971. Invitations to attend will also be sent to widows of the Navy personnel who served their country in the FESR.

A national mail-out of reunion information to past and present members of the FESR Navy Association has occurred and those seeking registration and reunion details can access the FESR website www.fesrnavy.asn.au or contact Reunion Committee Secretary Tony Isaac tel (07) 3395 3070 or email to receive information.

June 2010 - Third 'Greenies' Reunion

The third 'Greenies' reunion will be held at Ballina, NSW, on the weekend of 25/26/27 June 2010. Information can be found on the Greenies website www.pussersgreenies.org . Details can be found under the "Email List" page - if you are not a member of the list, please fill in your details on the blue "Leave Details" heading. If you are planning to attend, please book your accommodation as soon as possible. Accommodation booking details are on the information sheet on the website.

July 2010 - RAN Cooks

July 2010 - 50th Anniversary of Junior Recruit Training Scheme

The 50th anniversary of the start of the Junior Recruit training scheme on 13th July 1960 will be marked with a reunion at HMAS Leeuwin on 12-16 July 2010. An invitation has been extended to all of the more than 13,000 JRs of all intakes from HMAS Leeuwin and HMAS Cerberus, instructors and office staff. 16-19 August 2010 - RAN Band Reunion

7-10 October 2010 - National RAN Physical Trainers Reunion

Retired PTs, partners and friends have been invited to attend the RAN Physical Trainers Symposium and reunion to be held in the Mornington Peninsula area from 7-10 October 2010. The PT reunion function will be held at Brooklands of Mornington starting at 1900 on Saturday, 10 October 2010. Dress for the reunion is neat casual. More details are in the attached document.

15-17 October 2010 - HMAS Melbourne reunion

The evening of Saturday, October 16, will be the main event of this reunion, a seated dinner with guest speaker. Other optional activities are being organised for that weekend, which precedes Navy Week in the Shoalhaven Region. Provisional program -

Friday, 15 Oct 2010 - 1600: registration, meet and greet.
Saturday, 16 Oct - 0930: registration, escorted bus tours of HMAS Albatross and also visit to Fleet Air Arm Museum; 1700: registration and reunion dinner at Bomaderry RSL Club
Sunday, 17 Oct - 1000: The FAA Museum is organising a public day to co-inside with the reunion. A static display of aircraft including the Historic Flight as well as a collection of vintage, veteran and classic cars is envisaged; 1200: BBQ lunch at the White Ensign Club, next to the Museum, only accessible for reunion participants.

The assistance of those residing in the Shoalhaven region to organise golf and bowls days on either the Friday or Monday is being sought.

October 2010 - RAN Battle Class Social Club

The Social Club will have its annual national reunion in Canberra between 21 and 24 October 2010. Thursday, October 21, will be a meet and greet evening buffet meal, the Friday will include a day bus trip, the Saturday will have an evening dinner dance and the Sunday will include a short tour and Lunch plus farewell drinks and finger food at night.

April 2011 - "End of an Era" RAN Steam Reunion

The "End of an Era" RAN Steam Reunion will be held in Brisbane from Friday, 22 April until Monday, 25 April 2011. The reunion is being organised by the Nirimba Queensland Sub-Section of the Naval Association of Australia.

The aim is to celebrate the significance of those men and women who served in the RAN during the steam ships era. We also will remember the families and others involved in the RAN during that period and so the reunion is intended to bring together people from all walks of life.

Planning is underway. Subject to confirmation, the reunion includes the following events:

Friday 22nd April: From 1400 - Registration; 1800 - Meet and Greet includes beverages & finger food
Saturday 23rd April: Leisure time with friends and families; day trips to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and surrounding districts, winery tours, river cruises, golf, lawn bowls; 1930 - Reunion Dinner includes meal, beverages and entertainment
Sunday 24th April: 1000 - Reunion BBQ and tour of the Queensland Maritime Museum
Monday 25th April: Anzac Day services; 1000 - Brisbane Anzac Day Parade.

2011 - US reunion of all Charles F Adams (DDG) crews

A number for Adam's Class ships have decided to hold their next reunion in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2011 when there is the possibility that the class namesake, ex-USS Charles F Adams may be on its way to Jacksonville as a naval museum.

An invitation has been made to the 3 RAN and 3 German Navy ships of the class with registrations so far including crew members of the 3 Australian ships.
