The Association joined with a wide group of citizens in Canberra on Friday to honour those who lost their lives in the recent Sea King tragedy in Indonesia.
The National President, David Farthing, represented all Association members, and on their behalf signed the condolence book.
He said it had been a very moving service, with the Prime Minister, Mr Howard, speaking eloquently and with sincerity about the great debt that Australians owed to all who serve their country, and particularly to the victims of the crash.
His remarks were followed by tributes from the Opposition Leader, Mr Beasley, and the Indonesian Ambassador.
David said he hoped that the sentiments expressed during the service offered some consolation to those mourning loved ones.
