Life Membership to Clem Conlan
Clem Conlan

Clem Conlan, a long-standing stalwart of the Victoria Division of the Association, was presented with life membership of the Association at the FAAAA Federal Council Meeting held at Nowra on Saturday, 3rd October 2009.

Clem has had a long involvement with the Navy and Fleet Air Arm - he joined the Navy on 13 January 1948 and served until his discharge as a Petty Officer on 12 January 1962. He was one of the original "Aussie birdies", serving in Korea aboard HMAS Sydney. He also saw service in HMA Ships Vengeance and Kanimbla, and HM Ships Daedalus, Gamecock, Fulmar and Heron. His service also included 723, 724, 816 and 805 Squadrons. Clem also worked for TAA in Melbourne as a sheet metal worker.

He was one of six Association members to receive life memberships in 2009, to recognise their service and dedication to the work of the Association.

Clem was presented with his award by the National President, David Farthing, who congratulated him and thanked him for his past involvement.

The Victoria Division adds its congratulations to Clem for this well-deserved award.
