Twenty-four Seagull V aircraft went into service during 1935-37, and 37 of a later version, the Walrus, were introduced into the RAAF during 1939-44. Flown by RAAF pilots and usually crewed by RAN personnel, they were embarked on HMA ships Albatross, Australia, Sydney, Hobart, Perth and Canberra.
