The images below show the Australian Sea King production line at Westland Helicopters, near Yeovil in the UK. The early stages were taken in April 1974.  

The images give an idea of the sequence of the build: the hull section first, then the cabin separately before the two were married. Westlands was known as a ‘cottage industry’:  it was little more than a shed, and most of the construction was by hand, using jigs to ensure uniformity – but they produced a good product.  Images courtesy of Andy Craig.
