I wonder if you could be of assistance in my quest for information on the passing of one Barry [Bazz] Garratt, Lieutenant Commander RAN Retired . Bazz transferred from the RN in the early 70’s as a Chief and I first met him when he joined 724 Squadron and we became good friends even when he went to the wardroom. He was my AEO and mid 80-ish my boss when I was SIATA at ATD, where I took great pleasure from his request of me to make a farewell speech when he posted out.
Another mate, Allan [Skin] Forsythe, followed Bazz to the wardroom and it was he who, a couple of years ago, gave me the news of Bazz passing some 10 years earlier and I’m sorry now that I hadn’t the presence of mind to ask for the details. Perhaps your membership may glean the required data.
