Mystery Photo number 11 was not of an aircraft, nor even a ship – rather, it was the vehicle below. It had a specific purpose and did have an aviation link (sort of). The questions asked were:
- What the car was purchased for and by whom?
- Where it is, and
- What year the photo was taken?
Surprisingly, nobody had anything to say about it. Part of the answer can be found in the second photo below – yes, it was an old car purchased by the Ship’s company of HMAS Tobruk. that was stored in the shed in the image (the one on the right, not the left!) when at sea. The venue is Brisbane Wharf and the date circa 1983.
