Jun 20, 2015

The latest A-4N arrives at Wittmund – Combat Aircraft Monthly Magazine – July 2015.

A-4NdadsWittmund11may2015The latest McDonnell Douglas A-4N for Discovery Air Defence Services arrived at Wittmund air base in northern Germany on May 11, 2015. Wearing the Canadian civil registration C-FGZS, serial 337 (BuNo 158730, c/n 14377) used the call sign ‘Dadio 22’ for the flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Wittmund, where it will now be used for target-towing and other support missions. The final leg of the flight from Prestwick took two hours, as the Skyhawk was not permitted to cross Dutch airspace, instead flying over the UK and Belgium, before entering German airspace near Aachen. C-FGZS is the sixth Skyhawk for DADS in Germany, and the seventh and final example will follow in June. Michael Balter.
