NSW Premier Seeks Korean War Veterans for Reception
Each year since 2003 the NSW Premier has hosted a reception at Government House to thank veterans for their service in the Korean War. This year the reception will be held on 22 July 2017.
It is a wonderful opportunity for veterans to come together, to reflect on the bonds of mateship that held them together during the war, and of course to pay respect to those who did not return. It also enables the NSW Government to acknowledge this service, and the Minister for Veterans Affairs is keen to ensure that veterans who have not previously attended this reception are invited.
As the reception is held at Government House, there are constraints on the number of guests that can be included. We are also mindful that guests may wish to bring a partner, and therefore have had to restrict the guests each organisation can nominate.
I would be very grateful if you could nominate Korean War Veterans (and partners) known to your organisation who would like to attend the reception by 15 May 2017. Please give preference to Korean War Veterans who have not had an opportunity to attend, or if this is not possible, to those who have only attended once or twice or who are office bearers.
Please provide nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your help with this, and I look forwards to working with you on the 2017 Premier’s Korean War Veteran Reception.
