Agusta Westland A109E
Three A109E helicopters were leased to the RAN in 2007 to assist with aircrew training at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, NSW. They were retired from Navy service on 9 March 2012. The aircraft flew more than 6000 hours and qualified more than 60 aircrew in that time. As well as providing crew training, the A109Es also provided support in the 2009 Victoria bushfires and 2011 Queensland flood relief and were a regular feature at open days, air shows, schools and community events. The Agusta have been replaced by three Bell 429 helicopters.
