Two HS 748 twin turboprop aircraft were provided to the Fleet Air Arm for navigation traini9ng, communications and transport duties. The two aircraft were flowm from the UK in 1973 and in addition to regular duties were deployed to Darwin in 1975 to assist in the evacuation of the city following Cyclone Tracy.
