Robert Arthur Christie (Bob)
8th December 1933- 7th April 2018

Please take a moment to pause and reflect on the passing of a former sailor.
 x
Bob was a very private man and very independent as he never wanted anyone to worry about him but he would worry about everyone else.
 x
Bob served 20 years in the Navy from 1956 -1976 and left as a Chief petty Officer. He served on the HMAS MELBOURNE and HMAS ALBATROSS. It was always a discussion how Bob sailed the 7 seas and could not swim.
 x
ANZAC day was very important to Bob- he was proud to march and meet up with his friends at the Cooroy RSL afterward.
 x
After leaving the navy Bob married Joyce and  worked for Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service as a ranger on the beautiful Frazer Island and around the Sunshine Coast in Queensland until retirement age.
 x
It seems Bob always worked around water which was unusual like I said he could not swim. In his retirement Bob enjoyed wood work, having a chat and cuppa.
 x
Bob did not want a fuss for his funeral – he only wanted a private simple, short funeral.
 x
We are going to miss you Sailor, I bet you’re sailing other seas- Yes ! Seas so glassy calm.
 x
Glenda Rush. ( Bob’s daughter in law.)
