It is with sadness and regret that i must inform you of the passing of Rusty Marquis age 97 who crossed Bar last Wednesday. 12 July 2023.

Rusty was born in Katanning, WA, on 26 October 1925, and was mobilised into the Navy as an Ordinary Seaman on 14 January 1943. Service life obviously suited him as after initial service aboard Cerberus, Hobart, Murchison, Torrens and Leeuwin, he transferred to the recently formed Air Branch in 1951 as an LEM(Air). From there, unsurprisingly, his career was centred around HMAS Albatross, with occasional embarkations aboard Melbourne.
A funeral service was held on Friday 21st July at Shoalhaven Crematorium Chapel, Worrigee.
