“I first met Col in 1997 when I joined 816 SQN from the Royal Navy, in my humble opinion, one of the best WOs I ever served with. His focus was getting the job done, his experience and skills were beyond reproach and we got the job done! We enjoyed brews together and shooting the proverbial, I learnt a lot from him regarding the differences between the RN and RAN, which have lasted my entire career. Our paths crossed again at FAA HQ 2015/16 and I loved catching up with him with great stories and humour. His love for his family, the FAA, rugby and life were infectious. His sense of humour was outstanding, in my eyes, maybe not in today’s world, but God did I laugh! We have lost a FAA treasure, but one that I had the pleasure to know and a true mentor, thank you Col, you will be missed. RIP your watch is over.”
