I regret to inform you that my father LCDR Peter Railton-Woodcock RN, RAN Rtd passed away suddenly in Melbourne in late 2020.

He joined the Royal Navy in 1946 aged 15 years and 5 months as an artificer apprentice and left in September 1980 as a Lieutenant Commander. He was an aircraft engineer and diving officer serving in many shore based Fleet Air Arm establishments, including Malta, and at sea.

In 1980 he emigrated to Australia and joined the RAN as a Quality Control Officer for NAS Nowra. From there he went to Canberra as Engineering Policy Administrator for aircraft maintenance before becoming Quality Assurance Officer for RAN ship aviation facilities based in Sydney, retiring from the RAN in 1990.

He was at heart a true navy man from childhood to the end and will be sorely missed.
