Advice has been received that Robert “Lou” Burns Crossed the Bar on Wednesday 20 March 2019.

Lou joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1948 as NAM(Mech Ordnance) saw service onboard  HMAS Sydney in Korea.  He Left the RAN in 1963 worked as a Fuel Tanker driver at Perth airport before commencing his own Fuel  Distribution Service from Carnarvon.

He was one of the Fleet Air Arm’s legends. Everyone to him was a “raw bone”; very few young sailors stayed in their bunks when he was Killick of the mess. Never short of good story; never short of creating an embarrassing moment and every conversation included a joke.

Lou was a long-standing member of WA Division, and lived in Byford, just to the south of Perth.  The funeral will be held at Fremantle Cemetery (West Chapel) on Wednesday 27th March 2019 at 1400.
