It is with deep sadness that I notify you all of the passing of our great shipmate, Robert ‘Flash’ Glendinning. Flash has fought the long fight with his Leukaemia and many times we thought he conquered it, but unfortunately it finally got the better of him.
I spent the last few days with him and he was forever grateful for the enduring friendships he established whilst serving the Royal Australian Navy and the Fleet Air Arm. Tonight I had the pleasure to spend some precious time with him prior to passing. Some special time with a great mate. He has left a legacy that all of us will never forget.
The funeral will be held at the FAA Museum on Tuesday 16 October 2018, commencing at 1300. It is requested that all serving and ex-serving personnel wear their medals.
