Wayne Hardy has informed us that his father, R62511 Bevin Hardy, passed away on 12 April 2023 at the Prince of Wales hospital in Sydney. He was an ex FAA Petty Officer Maintainer, late of 232 Road North Nowra.
Bevin was born in Bundaberg (QLD) on 4th August 1941 and enlisted in the Navy in September of 1963, aged 19. He appears to have had some trauma as a young man as his Naval Record notes that his left index finger was missing and he had multiple scars.
Having completed his recruit training at HMAS Cerberus, he undertook air technical training and was signed off on the Westland Sea King in September of 1964.
Unfortunately his Naval Records are incomplete, so any further advice about his Service and subsequent civilian life would be much appreciated.
