We have been advised of the death of ex-CPOATA Alan Hill, late of the Gold Coast, on 17 December 2023. He was 92 years old.
Alan served in the FAA from 1949 to 1975 , in early days of Fireflys then Venoms and later Skyhawks. He served on all three RAN carriers, Sydney Vengeance and Melbourne. Off the record, he was also well known as the Albatross SP bookie in the sixties and seventies.
Remembered as a tough chief but great mento, he was admitted to Sandbrook Aged Care centre earlier this year in poor health.
