HAMLYN, Warren Bruce

Apr 3, 2024

Sadly,  we wish to advise that Fleet Air Arm veteran, CMDR Warren Hamlyn, passed away 8th March 2024.

Warren, who was born in Waverley on 2nd July 1940, joined the RAN as a Supplementary List Midshipman in February of 1963 and four months after his basic training at HMAS Cerberus was loaned to the RN for Observer training in Malta (No 70 Basic Observers’ Course).  He returned to Australia later that year and subsequently served at Albatross and aboard Melbourne as a Gannet Observer on 724 and then 816 Squadrons.

His personal records terminated in 1969 and, regrettably, we don’t have further details beyond that date.

More information will be provided when known.
