David John Brock R49923 proudly and faithfully served his Country in the Malayan confrontation as a member of the Royal Australian Navy. He was a member of Class 50, 25 October 1954.

David enlisted on 18th January 1954 serving at various depots and on ships including HMAS Cerebrus, Albatross, Melbourne, Nirimba and Penguin where he served with distinction until he was honourably discharged on 21st December 1960.

David was? awarded the Australian Active Service Medal 1945-1975 wi thClasp “Malaya”, the Australian Service medal 1945-1975 with Clasp “FESR” and the Australian Defence Medal. Truly a great record in the service of ones Country.

David joined The Entrance Long Jetty RSL sub-Branch on 6th January 1998, he was also a member of Bateau Bay Bowling Club, Blacktown City Bowling Club and port Macquarie City Bowling Club. The last few years were very trying health wise for David, but he wore his afflictions with courage and fortitude. 

Our Comrade in Arms attended his last parade on 3 May 2011, and received his last orders:  ‘Stand Easy’.
