We have just been advised that Roy Matheson passed away on Tuesday 8th November 2022, aged just 65 years old.
He joined the RAN on 24/06/1975 and discharged on 23/04/1979 with rank of ABAVN, having served at Cerberus, Penguin and Albatross, and aboard HMAS Melbourne (1976 – 1979).
After leaving the Navy, Roy joined the police force where he served with distinction for many years, including being decorated with the Queens Bravery Medal.
He leaves behind his wife Sally, stepson Phillip and step-granddaughter Sienna, who will miss him dearly.
Roy’s ashes were scattered in a private ceremony, befitting him as a private person content with his life.
